Description
This security bulletin contains information about 35 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Server-Side Request Forgery (SSRF) (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-22243)
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform SSRF attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input when parsing URL with the UriComponentsBuilder component. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and trick the application to initiate requests to arbitrary systems.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker gain access to sensitive data, located in the local network or send malicious requests to other servers from the vulnerable system.
2) SQL injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-39417)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary SQL queries in database.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data within the extension script @substitutions@, which uses @extowner@, @extschema@, or @extschema:...@ inside a quoting construct. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted request to the affected application and execute arbitrary SQL commands within the application database.
3) Permissions, Privileges, and Access Controls (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-2454)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary code on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to improperly imposed security restrictions. A remote database user with CREATE privilege can bypass protective search_path changes via "CREATE SCHEMA ... schema_element" command and execute arbitrary code on the system.
4) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-1255)
The vulnerability allows an attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
5) Security features bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-2455)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to bypass implemented security restrictions.
The vulnerability exists due to incomplete fix for #VU40402 (CVE-2016-2193) that did not anticipate a scenario involving function inlining. This scenario can happen under security definer functions or when a common user and query is planned initially and then re-used across multiple SET ROLEs. Applying an incorrect policy may permit a user to complete otherwise-forbidden reads and modifications.
This affects only databases that have used CREATE POLICY to define a row security policy.
6) Resource management error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-3817)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to improper management of internal resources within the application when checking the long DH keys. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
7) Improper Authentication (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-2975)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication process.
The vulnerability exists due to an error in the AES-SIV cipher implementation when authenticating empty data entries via the EVP_EncryptUpdate() and EVP_CipherUpdate() functions. A remote attacker can bypass authentication process and impact application's integrity.
8) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-34062)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and read arbitrary files on the system.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability requires that Reactor Netty HTTP Server is configured to serve static resources.
9) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-28085)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied arguments along with setgid tty permissions within the wall command. A local user can execute arbitrary commands with escalated privileges on the system.
10) Information Exposure Through Timing Discrepancy (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-4304)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to obtain sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a timing based side channel exists in the OpenSSL RSA Decryption implementation. A remote attacker can perform a Bleichenbacher style attack and decrypt data sent over the network.
To achieve a successful decryption an attacker would have to be able to send a very large number of trial messages for decryption. The vulnerability affects all RSA padding modes: PKCS#1 v1.5, RSA-OEAP and RSASVE.
11) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-22257)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain unauthorized access to otherwise restricted functionality.
The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions when the "AuthenticatedVoter#vote" passing a "null" Authentication parameter. A remote attacker can bypass implemented security restrictions and gain unauthorized access to the application.

The vulnerability exists due to reading the unbounded number of HTTP/2 CONTINUATION frames. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
14) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-26461)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform DoS attack on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due memory leak in /krb5/src/lib/gssapi/krb5/k5sealv3.c. A remote attacker can force the application to leak memory and perform denial of service attack.
15) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-26458)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to memory leak in /krb5/src/lib/rpc/pmap_rmt.c. A remote attacker can perform a denial of service attack.
16) Inconsistent interpretation of HTTP requests (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-46589)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform HTTP request smuggling attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to improper validation of HTTP requests when parsing malformed trailer headers. A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request to the server and smuggle arbitrary HTTP headers.
Successful exploitation of vulnerability may allow an attacker to poison HTTP cache and perform phishing attacks.
17) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-34054)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can send specially crafted HTTP requests to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
18) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-4203)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition when performing name constraint checking of the X.509 certificates. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted X.509 certificate to the affected server, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
19) Type Confusion (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-0286)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a type confusion error related to X.400 address processing inside an X.509 GeneralName. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a type confusion error and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack or read memory contents.
In most cases, the attack requires the attacker to provide both the certificate chain and CRL, neither of which need to have a valid signature. If the attacker only controls one of these inputs, the other input must already contain an X.400 address as a CRL distribution point, which is uncommon. As such, this vulnerability is most likely to only affect applications which have implemented their own functionality for retrieving CRLs over a network.
20) Information disclosure (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-0044)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists if Quarkus Form Authentication session cookie Path attribute is set to "/". A remote attacker can perform a cross-site attack and obtain sensitive information from the cookie. The vulnerability affects Vert.x HTTP component.
21) Deserialization of Untrusted Data (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-1471)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to insecure input validation when processing serialized data within the SnakeYaml's Constructor() class. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted yaml content to the application and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
22) Deserialization of Untrusted Data (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-45047)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to insecure input validation when processing serialized data within the org.apache.sshd.server.keyprovider.SimpleGeneratorHostKeyProvider class. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
23) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-42004)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control usage of deeply nested arrays in BeanDeserializer._deserializeFromArray. A remote attacker can trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
24) Deserialization of Untrusted Data (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-42003)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to insecure input validation when processing serialized data when the UNWRAP_SINGLE_VALUE_ARRAYS feature is enabled. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and cause a denial of service condition on the target system.
25) Observable discrepancy (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-3143)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to usage of an unsafe java.util.Arrays.equals method, vulnerable to timing attacks. A remote attacker can gain access to potentially sensitive information or impersonate other application users.
26) Path traversal (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-24815)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform directory traversal attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to input validation error when processing directory traversal sequences, when running vertx web applications that serve files using `StaticHandler` on Windows Operating Systems and Windows File Systems, if the mount point is a wildcard (`*`). A remote attacker can send a specially crafted HTTP request and read arbitrary files on the system.
27) HTTP response splitting (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41915)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform HTTP splitting attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to software does not validate header values when calling DefaultHttpHeaders.set with an iterator of values. A remote attacker can inject arbitrary header values and perform HTTP splitting attacks.
Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker perform cache poisoning attack.
28) Double Free (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-4450)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error within the PEM_read_bio_ex() function. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted PEM file to the application, trigger a double free error and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
29) Infinite loop (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-41881)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to infinite loop within the HaProxyMessageDecoder when parsing a TLV with type of "PP2_TYPE_SSL". A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted message to consume all available system resources and cause denial of service conditions.
30) Security features bypass (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-4853)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass implemented security restrictions.
The vulnerability exists due to implemented HTTP security policies do not correctly sanitize certain character permutations, which may result in incorrect evaluation of permissions. A remote attacker can bypass the security policy altogether and gain unauthorized access to endpoints or perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
31) Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-5072)
