Description
This security bulletin contains information about 8 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Use of Uninitialized Variable (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-8842)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to uninitialized variable within the parsing of RTF files. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted file and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-8849)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the handling of AcroForms. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
3) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-8848)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the handling of AcroForms. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
4) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-8847)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the handling of Doc objects. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system, leading to arbitrary code execution.
5) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-8846)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted TIF file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
6) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-8845)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted PDF file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
7) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-8844)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted PDF file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
8) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-8843)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted JB2 file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
