Description

This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Resource management error (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-52522)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper management of internal resources within the neigh_periodic_work() function in net/core/neighbour.c. A local user can  perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


2) Improper locking (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-26686)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper locking within the do_task_stat() function in fs/proc/array.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-48638)

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the cgroup_get_from_id() function in kernel/cgroup/cgroup.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


4) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2022-48686)

The vulnerability exists due to use of uninitialized resource within the mptcp_stream_connect() function in net/mptcp/protocol.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.


6) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-41071)

The vulnerability exists due to an out-of-bounds read error within the ieee80211_prep_hw_scan() function in net/mac80211/scan.c. A local user can perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
