Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) XML External Entity injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-45294)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied XML input. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted XML code to the affected application and view contents of arbitrary files on the system or initiate requests to external systems.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to view contents of arbitrary file on the server or perform network scanning of internal and external infrastructure.

2) Allocation of Resources Without Limits or Throttling (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-8391)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to the gRPC server does not limit the maximum length of message payload. A remote attacker can send multiple extremely large messages to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-32007)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists within the JOSE code due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input passed via the p2c parameter. A remote attacker can pass a large value for the affected parameter in a token and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

4) Memory leak (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-41172)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform DoS attack on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due memory leak in HTTPClient. A remote attacker can force the application to leak memory and perform denial of service attack.

5) Race condition (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-35255)

The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to a race condition in Azure Identity Libraries and Microsoft Authentication Library. A local user can elevate privileges and read any file on the file system.
