Description
This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47421)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger an out-of-bounds read and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
2) Insecure DLL loading (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47422)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to the application loads DLL libraries in an insecure manner. A remote attacker can place a specially crafted .dll file on a remote SMB fileshare, trick the victim into opening a file, associated with the vulnerable application, and execute arbitrary code on victim's system.
3) Input validation error (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47423)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected system.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of user-supplied input. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file and execute arbitrary code on the system.
4) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47424)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow. A remote attacker can trick the victim into opening a specially crafted file, trigger an integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Integer underflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-47425)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer underflow. A remote attacker can trick the victim to open a specially crafted file, trigger an integer underflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
