Description
This security bulletin contains information about 6 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-9744)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted JP2 file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
2) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-9751)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted JP2 file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
3) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-9755)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted JP2 file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system, leading to arbitrary code execution.
4) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-9757)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted JP2 file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
5) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-9761)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted PDF file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
6) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-9735)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted JPF file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
