Description

This security bulletin contains information about 8 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2023-5752)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the affected system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation when installing a package from a Mercurial VCS URL (ie "pip install hg+...") with pip. A remote attacker who controls the repository can use the specified Mercurial revision to inject arbitrary configuration options to the "hg clone" call (ie "--config").

2) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-0727)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error when processing fields in the PKCS12 certificate. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted certificate to the server and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

3) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-0232)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error within the jsonParseAddNodeArray() function in sqlite3.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted json data to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

4) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21202)

The vulnerability allows a remote non-authenticated attacker to read and manipulate data.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the PIA Core Technology component in PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. A remote non-authenticated attacker can exploit this vulnerability to read and manipulate data.

5) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-0450)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to the zipfile module does not properly control consumption of internal resources when extracting files from a zip archive. A remote attacker can pass a specially crafted archive aka zip-bomb to the application, trigger resource exhaustion and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

6) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-26130)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error within pkcs12.serialize_key_and_certificates when called with a non-matching certificate and private key and an hmac_hash override. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

7) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21214)

The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user to read and manipulate data.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the Query component in PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. A remote authenticated user can exploit this vulnerability to read and manipulate data.

8) Improper input validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-21255)

The vulnerability allows a remote authenticated user to execute arbitrary code.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation within the XMLPublisher component in PeopleSoft Enterprise PeopleTools. A remote authenticated user can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code.
