Description
This security bulletin contains information about 3 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Resource exhaustion (CVE-ID: N/A)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to application does not properly control consumption of internal resources when processing gzip archives. A remote attacker can pass a malformed gzip inside a gzip archive with an extremely large filename field and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: N/A)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error in archive_read_support_format_tar.c when handling truncated files. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted file to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
3) Memory leak (CVE-ID: N/A)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform DoS attack on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due memory leak i narchive_read_support_format_tar.c. A remote attacker can force the application to leak memory and perform denial of service attack.
