Description

This security bulletin contains information about 8 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Execution with unnecessary privileges (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-20420)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to escalate privileges on the system.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect authorization verification by the HTTP server. A remote user can send a specially crafted request and run commands as the Admin user.

2) Cross-site request forgery (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-20421)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site request forgery attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient validation of the HTTP request origin in the web-based management interface. A remote attacker can trick the victim to visit a specially crafted web page and perform arbitrary actions on behalf of the victim on the vulnerable website.

3) Improper Authentication (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-20458)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication process.

The vulnerability exists due to a lack of authentication on specific HTTP endpoints. A remote attacker can view or delete the configuration or change the firmware.

4) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-20459)

The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the web-based management interface. A remote administrator can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

5) Cross-site scripting (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-20460)

The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.

The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data in the web-based management interface. A remote attacker can trick the victim to follow a specially crafted link and execute arbitrary HTML and script code in user's browser in context of vulnerable website.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.

6) OS Command Injection (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-20461)

The vulnerability allows a local user to execute arbitrary shell commands on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to improper input validation in the CLI. A local administrator can pass specially crafted data to the application and execute arbitrary OS commands on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

7) Storing passwords in a recoverable format (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-20462)

The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to incorrect sanitization of HTML content from an affected device. A local user can view passwords that belong to other users.

8) Authentication Bypass by Primary Weakness (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-20463)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to the HTTP server allowing state changes in GET requests. A remote attacker can make limited modifications to the configuration or reboot the device, leading to a denial of service (DoS) condition.
