Description

This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.

1) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-12551)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted JP2 file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system, leading to arbitrary code execution.

2) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-12547)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted JPF file, trick the victim into opening it using the affected software, trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

3) Use-after-free (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-12548)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a use-after-free error. A remote attacker can trick a victim to open a specially crafted JP2 file and gain unauthorized access to sensitive information on the system.

4) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-12549)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted JP2 file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system, leading to arbitrary code execution.

5) Out-of-bounds read (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-12550)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition. A remote attacker can create a specially crafted JP2 file, trick the victim into opening it, trigger an out-of-bounds read error and read contents of memory on the system.
