Description
This security bulletin contains information about 8 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Incorrect User Management (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-28020)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to compromise the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to the user/password reuse issue. A remote administrator can use the passwords and login information to extend access on the server and other services.
2) Improper Restriction of Excessive Authentication Attempts (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-28022)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper restriction of excessive authentication attempts. A remote attacker can conduct brute force attacks to gain access to other components in the same security realm using the targeted account.
3) Cleartext storage of sensitive information (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-28024)
The vulnerability allows a local user to gain access to potentially sensitive information.
The vulnerability exists due to cleartext storage of sensitive information. A local administrator can gain access sensitive information on the target system.
4) Authentication bypass using an alternate path or channel (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-2013)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to bypass authentication process.
The vulnerability exists due to the authentication bypass using an alternate path or channel. A remote attacker can interact with the services and the post-authentication attack surface.
5) Improper Neutralization of Argument Delimiters in a Command (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-2012)
The vulnerability allows a remote user to execute arbitrary argument.
The vulnerability exists due to improper neutralization of argument delimiters in a command. A remote administrator can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
6) Heap-based buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-2011)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger a heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
7) Improper Certificate Validation (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-28021)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to compromise the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper message queueing mechanism's certificate validation. A remote attacker can spoof a trusted entity causing a loss of confidentiality and integrity.
8) Use of Hard-coded Password (CVE-ID: CVE-2024-28023)
The vulnerability allows a local user to compromise the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to use a hard-coded password in the message queueing mechanism. A local administrator can execute arbitrary code on the target system.
