Description
This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-0288)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input. A local user can trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system with elevated privileges.
2) NULL pointer dereference (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-0287)
The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to a NULL pointer dereference error. A local user can pass specially crafted data to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
3) Out-of-bounds write (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-0286)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing untrusted input. A local user can trigger an out-of-bounds write and execute arbitrary code on the target system with elevated privileges.
4) Improper access control (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-0289)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to improper access restrictions when validating the MappedSystemVa pointer before passing it to HalReturnToFirmware. A local user can execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
Note, the vulnerability is being actively exploited in the wild.
5) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-0285)
The vulnerability allows a local user to escalate privileges on the system.
The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error. A local user can trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code with elevated privileges.
