Description
This security bulletin contains information about 5 secuirty vulnerabilities.
1) Access of Uninitialized Pointer (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-2173)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to preform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
The vulnerability exists due to access to uninitialized pointer within the vbi_strndup_iconv_ucs2() function in src/conv.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted input to the application and perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.
2) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-2174)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the bi_strndup_iconv_ucs2() function in src/conv.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
3) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-2175)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the _vbi_strndup_iconv() function. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
4) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-2176)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the vbi_capture_sim_load_caption() function in src/io-sim.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
5) Integer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-2177)
The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.
The vulnerability exists due to integer overflow within the vbi_search_new() function in src/search.c. A remote attacker can pass specially crafted data to the application, trigger integer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.
