Description

This security bulletin contains information about 2 secuirty vulnerabilities.


1) Buffer overflow (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-31200)

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing audio stream in CoreAudio. A remote attacker can trick the victim into visiting a specially crafted website or playing a specially crafted video file, trigger memory corruption and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may result in complete compromise of vulnerable system.

Note, the vulnerability is being actively exploited in the wild.


2) Improper authentication (CVE-ID: CVE-2025-31201)

The vulnerability allows a local application to bypass pointer authentication process.

The vulnerability exists due to an error in RPAC. A local application with read and write permissions can bypass pointer authentication and escalate privileges on the system.

Note, the vulnerability is being actively exploited in the wild.
