Description
The disclosed vulnerability allows a remote attacker to perform cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks.
The vulnerability exists due to insufficient sanitization of user-supplied data when the Node.js debugger being enabled by passing the --debug
or debug
flags to Node.js. A remote attacker can make a change to default to localhost, attach to the debug feature and execute arbitrary JavaScript code.
Successful exploitation of this vulnerability may allow a remote attacker to steal potentially sensitive information, change appearance of the web page, perform phishing and drive-by-download attacks.
Mitigation
Update to version 6.0.15.
