Description

The vulnerability allows a local user to perform a denial of service (DoS) attack.

The vulnerability exists due to the . A local authenticated administrator can replace the "LogsUpdate.log" file with a symlink, trick the product into renaming arbitrary files and cause a denial of service on the target system.

This defect can be exploited to rename a critical product file (e.g., AvastSvc.exe), causing the product to fail to start on the next system restart.
