Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to gain access to potentially sensitive information.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary condition within the from_format() function in ssmtp.c in sSMTP. A remote attacker can send an email with specially crafted From: field and read memory contents on the system.

Mitigation
Install updates from vendor's website.
