Description

The vulnerability allows a remote attacker to execute arbitrary code on the target system.

The vulnerability exists due to a boundary error when processing WMF files with polygons which under certain circumstances when processed (split) can result in output polygons which have too many points to be represented by LibreOffice's internal polygon class. A remote attacker cat embed a malicious WMF file into Office document, trick the victim into opening it, trigger heap-based buffer overflow and execute arbitrary code on the target system.

Successful exploitation of the vulnerability may allow an attacker to compromise vulnerable system.

Mitigation
Update to version 5.2.5 or 5.3.0.
